I happened upon a pair of Rock Pigeons who I named Herman & Hortense. They were doing what humans call "cooing and billing" but in reality doing the "foreplay" dance of spring time love. They didn't seem to mind me at all and let me take a few photos of their amorous but gentle mating ritual. It seemes Herman asks Hortense if she would like to dance and she accepts. They dance a little, then kiss a little, then dance a little more and kiss a little more and so on and so on. Isn't nature wonderful?
